Building for the future
Our capital investment programme
We are modernising and replacing health centres and doctors’ surgeries in Lambeth – by 2013, we will have invested about £40 million (subject to permissions).
Our vision is taking shape, with new medical centres built and GP surgeries renovated.
We plan to continue building new medical centres or refurbish existing buildings.
Our plans are explained in more detail in our strategic services development plan (SSDP 2007), which was approved by the NHS Lambeth board in March 2008.
Some of these new generation medical centres will help ease the pressure on local hospitals by taking over the running of outpatient clinics, and by carrying out straightforward surgical procedures.
